Richard Bean
Data Scientist · Energy Market Analyst · Mathematician
I am a data scientist and energy market analyst with more than twenty years' experience across academia, government and industry. My research spans energy forecasting, transport analytics, combinatorics and classical cryptography — and the places where those subjects meet.
I am currently Senior Energy Market Analyst at Energy Exemplar, building PLEXOS models of the WA, NT and NEM electricity markets. I remain an Affiliate at University of Queensland Cyber Research Centre and an Affiliate of the University of Newcastle. I won the IEEE-CIS international energy forecasting competition for the Monash Microgrid.
